Neil Flockhart Wins 2008 Safe Access Scottish Championship
Two days of hard racing saw the 2008 Safe Access Scottish MX1 SACU Championship come to an end over the weekend, at the sandy Leuchars circuit near St. Andrews on the East Coast of Scotland. It was Neil Flockhart on the Willsweep / Drysdales KTM 450 who came away with his second Title Victory after a closely faught Championship battle all year.
Suffering a DNF at the first round of the series way back in March, Neil re-focused himself at the following rounds and steadily rose up through the points table with consistant finishes through the middle of the season. Coming into the weekend's final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday holding a 32 point lead over second placed Bobby Gold, his focus was all about the Championship.

Increasing his points lead over the Saturday's three motos, 25 year old Neil from Longniddry, East Lothian, was delighted to wrap up the Championship Chase in the second Moto on Sunday with a cool calculated ride despite the very rough track conditions.
Neil's 2006 and 2008 victories, sandwich brother Stuart's 2007 win, making them the only brothers to recieve the Donald Sinclair Memorial Trophy since it's creation in 1955.
"It was a tough series this year there were a lot of fast riders taking part, so I am really pumped to come away with the win. The KTM 450 has been awesome all year, it never let me down, and I'm really happy I stayed positive after the disappointing result at the first round. A big thanks to Steven and Andrew Williams at Willsweep and Tim Sleigh my mechanic. You guys have been awesome over the past few years I couldn't do it without your help and my sponsors Drysdale KTM, Shift, YPE-Power, BUD Suspension, Doma Exhausts, and Extreme Nutrition.
